Kelsey black

She/Her/Hers

Kelsey Black is a local business owner and LGBTQ+ activist. She was born and raised in the North Houston suburb of Conroe and went on to graduate from Texas Tech University in 2016. Kelsey moved to the Austin area in 2018 and found a home here in Pflugerville in 2020. She founded the Book Burrow, Pflugerville’s only Bookstore (on Instagram as @thebookburrowtx), in her garage in March of 2021. Under her leadership, The Book Burrow has grown from pop-up events into a community staple with a permanent storefront.

Kelsey has been described as “Leslie Knope IRL” and inspires those around her with love and kindness and a little bit of “Embrace your Weird.” Kelsey loves meeting new friends and has been quoted saying “There is no such thing as a stranger, only friends you haven’t met yet.” So don’t be a stranger! Maybe you’re Kelsey’s new best friend.

When she’s not working on her professional passion, you can find her at her bookstore or on social media @thebookpfairy.
